Our Next Opera Production
Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer, May 2021
Rose Opera will perform Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer in the wonderful Normansfield Theatre in Teddington on May 14th-16th, 2021.
A ghost captain (the ‘Flying Dutchman’) is cursed to roam the seas forever, coming ashore only once every seven years. Only if he finds a wife who loves him truly whilst he is ashore can he be freed from this eternal fate. Senta, the daughter of another sea captain, wants to be that wife. But she had previously pledged her love to another, with disastrous results for the ‘Flying Dutchman’. Come and see Rose Opera’s new production of this early Wagner masterpiece. Performed in German with English surtitles, featuring the Rose Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
