Midsummer Night's Dream

Come and join the soloists of Rose Opera and pianist Richard Black for a magical and enchanted evening of song in the beautiful setting of Leighton House in Kensington on Friday 11th July at 7pm. Our concert, entitled "A Midsummer Night's Dream -- songs of fantasy and enchantment", features pieces by (among others) Schubert, Britten, Ravel, Debussy, Vaughan Williams, Myroslav Volynsky and Sondheim. Our music will take us into the magical forests evoked by Shakespeare's famous play, give us some time to bathe in glorious sunlight, and also explore the subject of dreams and nightmares. As an added benefit, anyone coming to the concert will receive both a complimentary interval drink, and a complimentary guided tour of Leighton House (the former home and studio of the Victorian artist, Lord Frederic Leighton) if you arrive by 6.15pm and gather in the garden to meet your guide, Bernadette. You can also enjoy the garden in the interval.
